Jimmmer rocks

I was delighted by Jimmmer's post on South Africanisms, following a recent trip he did.

I got one of those "get to know you e-mails" yesterday, which you're meant to forward to people. Just for shits and giggles, here's mine:

1. What is your occupation?
I'm contributing editor of an FMCG/food trends/store-based magazine.

2. What colour is your underwear?
Today - my new red Superwoman number. With the logo and everything.

3.What are you listening to right now?
The accountant tell my boss about our competitor's sliding ABC figures. Riveting stuff. RIIIIIIVVVEETTTTING.

4. What was the last thing you ate?
Um, a mini jelly and custard concoction.

5. Do you wish on stars?
Shooting ones.

6. If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
Red.

7. How is the weather right now?
Overcast, grey. I feel like I'm living in Shepton Mallet, Britain.

8. Last person you spoke to on the phone?
A Woolworths regional officer. I know. I lead an extraordinary life.

9. How old are you today?
25. One more year to Botox. Just kidding. Or maybe not.

11. Favourite drink?
vodka and coke. Or Pina Coladas.

12. Favourite sport to watch?
Downhill skiing.

13. Have you ever dyed your hair?
Uh yes. Platinum, red (I'll NEVER do that again), ebony and black.

14. Do you wear contacts or glasses?
Nope.

15. Pets?
Mason Rodney. Yes it's a double barrel. A super-charged, furry little guinea pig. (Cos I don't have room for a dog or cat).

16. Favourite month?
September and December.

17. Favourite food?
smoked salmon, brie, camembert, parma ham, calamata oilves drenched in garlic, capers, cream cheese. All on one plate mate.

18. What was the last movie you watched?
Sheesh it's been ages. Um, can't remember. But did watch that creepy M-Net thriller 'Taking Lives' on Sunday. Ethan Hawke is one freaky dude.

19. Favourite day of the year?
14 September. Obviosuly!

20. What do you do to vent anger?

Sing karaoke. At home. In the spare room. With the door closed. And Michael Bolton crooning through the speakers, and me...just drowning him out. Or playing the piano for three solid hours, even if it is the Carpenter's Greatest Hits, or....driving around aimlessly in my ve-heeicle. When I'm sad, I write.

21. Fall or spring?
Spring.

22. Hugs or kisses?
kisses from Ashton Kutcher, hugs from Grandma.

23. Cherry or Blueberry?

24. Who do you live with?
Steve. an ideas man.

25. When was the last time you cried?
This morning on the way back from a meeting at AC Nielsen. I wasn't sad, so I dont really know why. Freak.

26. What is on the floor of your closet?
Copious amounts of stiletto high heels in all colours.

27. Who is the friend you have had the longest?
Kerri from boarding school; Phil since, like, birth.

28. What did you do last night?
I watched Home & Away (aw! yeah!?), ate vegetable curry, read a book about a a chick who was abducted about a Belgian pyschopath....(ok, maybe that's why I was crying. It's all subliminal), watered my jalapeno chilli called Juan, then went to bed.

29. Favourite smell?
A gin and tonic. :) Also the smell of bacon and eggs after a big night. Oh alright: the smell of Provence, the lavender, on a hot summer's day in the luberon valley....

30. What inspires you most?
the inner city, writing, photography, music.

31. What are you afraid of?
SNAKES. Eeeeek. And being alone.

32. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers?
Cheese. pile it on boy, don't be shy.

33. Favourite car?
Ludwig my new beetle of course! Vintage wise, an old Citroen 2CV-the classic french cars.

34. Favourite dog breed?
Staffordshire bull terrior.. You just can't compare them to a featherduster.

35. Number of keys on your key ring?
4.

36. How many years at your current job?
ummmm-6 months?

37. Favourite day of the week?
Friday afternoon, when I step out of the office.

38. Favourite thing to do?
make trays out of stencils and spray paint. Sometimes my own pottery mugs. ;) Maybe not!

I like listening to music, dancing, singing, writing, hanging with good company, having mind blowing sex (oh come on, like you don't?), shopping, trying on clothes that make me feel like a princess, going to wierd places - general exploration.

42. How many provinces have you lived in?
Shitters. Grew up KwaZulu-Natal, studied and lived in Western Cape, and live now in Gauteng.

43. How many cities have you lived in/name them?
Pietermaritzburg, Howick (city? that may be a slight exaggeration), Cape Town, Joburg, Grenoble (France), Crested Butte (Colorado - again city? ha ha ha ha ha ha), and I plan to be fully enclaved in Santiago Chile/San Fran US/ or Berlin Germany by next year July.

It was a lot of fun there, next time (because I think I might be returning) I'll let you know and we can rock up at your jolly's and dop lekkerrrrrrr!
