This is my Dad's gallery and bookshop in Hanover, Northern Cape. It's snowing, which, yes, it completely bizarre for the Karoo, but it actually gets skullfuckingly cold there in winter.
This is where he finds inspiration to take photos and write books. Population? Like 30 people.

Oh my gawsh... I remember times in the karoo when my toothpaste would freeze in the tube and I'd just about break my teeth on a tomato that had been left out overnight! Sounds like fun La!?
Yip. It can be frightfully icy. Dad complains that the pipes freeze for four months a year. That means NO HOT WATER FOR FOUR MONTHS A YEAR.
Again, I don't need to explain that he is crazy. Because that just justified it. :O
