i made it out alive

Wow was that a long trip. Plus he made me take the back roads.
But I made it out alive. I have been coordinating a trade show - food again :) - over the last three days and I'm pretty exhausted.
Having to be nice to people all day long, stand on your feet and eat junk all day is pretty tiring. So I'm glad to back at my desk in front of a computer for a change.

But I might've just might've got my big break yesterday! Zuzula listen up, because this may apply to you: I freelance for a website every now and then, and recently the editor fucked off to Elle magazine (as one does, I guess.) New editor tracks me down via three people and asks me...wait for it...if I'd care to do a weekly women's column for him. The only reason he did this was becuase he was getting the old editor's e-mails. I sent him a column I did very last-minute on Monday, basically on 'What Doesn't Make a Guy Sexy.' So persistence paid off! The new editor briefed me by saying I'd write onn sex, dating, women's issues, etc etc. Carrie Bradshaw's job on Sex & the City. Without hesitation I say, "Yes! Oh YES! When do you want me to send you the first one? Call a time, any time!" (Playing it cool was obviously out of the question.)

But he seemed keen. I'd start rolling them out in August.

I freelance write for a blog called Recycled Thoughts. Unfortunately it doesn't pay very well. Actually it doesn't pay a damn thing. Do you think they want someone to write from the male perspective?

Thanks Janie! Will let you know as soon as I know...

Ed - hey there!
The thing is this website is centered around Johannesburg and the lifestyle, hence JHBLive.com. But perhaps that could use an American male perspective? Take a look at the site and see if its your thing. They are reformatting it though, so have a look in August too...

brilliant news! So fab - I can picture you going all SATC with a funky laptop and your new car. God, you could just direct them to your blog every week ;)

With those counters, you have to paste the text into the blog template itself - go to your blog dashboard, and select 'view template'.

figure out where you want your counter to be (I can't read HTML but if you look out for a phrase like 'previoust posts' and post the counter code under there, that should do it!)

hope that makes sense - good luck x

Dood, that fucking rocks. I finally know someone who's on her way to fame - other than myself, of course.

Keep it real, and I'll see you in 2 weeks, if I don't get bombed by a terrorist or something.

Zuzula - thanks so much dear! As you can see, I managed to post two counters up instead of one. How did I do that - who knows.

Nettie - will send you the link as soon as one gets published.

Ho - If anyone could write about sex, babe, its you. In fact you're welcome to feed me ideas. Writing from a ghost writer's or man's perspective sounds brilliant. I might just take you up on that!

Ant - Babe I'm going to miss you! Have a blast, not literally, in Canada - take lots of pics and try and get some skiing in, you won't regret it. Can't wait to hear all about it when you return. xxxmwah
