2006

So 2006 has been a helluva year.
2006 has been both a ball ache bastardo and a peach.
Never before have I experienced so many extreme highs and lows over 365 days.

The lowlights:
Getting dumped
Going without sex for six long months
Jaegermeister hangovers so bad, death would’ve been a nicer fate
The editor who is out to destroy me
T-boning a taxi when it jumped a red light
Having two cell phones stolen
Having the ex boyfriends find the blog
Smashing random bottom-feeders in my face
Mason-Rodney, my guinea pig dies
Having to bury him in my ex boyfriend’s parent’s garden
Doc my best mate moves to India

The highlights:
Meeting someone incredible
Lots of shagging this year, in between the drought period
Lots of late night partying with mates, always a fat giggle
Learning to be by myself and loving it
Meeting someone else incredible
Opening up my blog to all my loved ones
Adopting a new pet, Chad the rat
Lots of weekends away, to the Free State, Natal, Mpumalanga
The DCI Blogging Indaba in Grahamstown
Winning a South African Blog Award
Coming in runner-up in the News24 Blog-Off
Being interviewed on SAfm
Living with Third World Ant, and having Third Roommate practically move in
Generally still being alive

So I go on holiday tomorrow. Well not really, I’ll be spending a bit of time at home before heading off to Cape Town for a large family Christmassy Christmas with my crazy dad and the rest of the immediate family, then I drive from there to Knysna with Smoking Legs for a New Year spent with mates that end.

Thank you, thank you everyone for your interactions, your comments, your support this year. And for just reading. It’s been helluva frenetic, and a year of extreme growth for me.

Happy New Year's, happy holidays and for those celebrating Christmas, have an excellent one.
I’ll be blogging infrequently over the holidays, so this isn’t a final goodbye for the year.
‘Til next time, keep grooving.

Glad to see the highlights far outweigh the lows and Thanks for sharing them with practically everyone! Always look forward to them, they are a good chuckle.

Enjoy your holidays, and best wishes and all that jazz! Drive safe. Hope to see the new blog in 2007.

If you weigh up the highlights against the lowlights, it seems you actually came off better than last year, missy. 2006 has ultimately been a good one for you. Here's to a wicked 2007!

ps: living with you has certainly been one of my highlights of the year, too...

Without you my Little Ant, I wouldn't have got through it alive. T'iamo mia piccola libro.

The year hasn't ended yet, so I'm choosing not to be hasty...;)

Hi Peas, I recently did a recon of the year too and I think it's important to reflect on the highs and lows. The highs because it keeps you postive and keeps you in perspective of all you've achieved and the lows because it's reminds you of how far you've come, how much you've grown and I guess you learn to appreciate the highs even more.
I know I was chatting to my flatmate and it's been one hell of a fucking year for both of us but we've come out smiling - now I'm looking forward to a good holiday and a fresh great start to the year.
Hope you have a safe and fantastic holiday and that 2007 is filled with great opportunities for you.

Peas,
I have been gazing in my crystal ball and I predict the following: A tall, dark - but unfortunately not handsome - man will come into your life and bring a little prosperity and some BIG EXPOSURE. Seriously.

Hey Peas.
I take it your boyfriends don't know about your famous blog?
Neither does mine, I don't think it would be a good idea for him to find it, coz I write about all his groveling episodes in it (among other things!)
Have a fabulous xmas and holiday season.
Cheers to that
Nicole

Hey Nicole
Yes they do. They knew about them before they became my ex boyfriends in fact.
Try to to keep yours under the QT, because it causes all sorts of complications believe you me. ;)

Have a fantastic Christmas too my dear!

Hey again!
I am trying my best to keep it under the radar, and have done fine so far. Maybe one day when I have moved on from my blog, I will tell him about it...although I will make sure to remove all incriminating evidence from it first!

Klink
Nicole!
