boozy lunch

So I went down to the Radium Beer Hall at lunch time. Mainly to grab a sarmie and smash a gin and tonic in my face.
The locals at the Radium are those sanctified seen-it-all kind of characters, usually sporting a substantial amount of facial and back hair. They're great.

Hairy man: Do you come here often?
Peas: Occasionally.
Hairy Man: I come here every day.
Peas: Oh. That's nice.
Hairy Man: I eat their espetada everyday.
Peas: Do you?
Hairy Man: Yes.
Peas: Do you like Portuguese food?
Hairy Man: No. Can't stand it.
Peas: But you eat espetada here everyday.
Hairy Man: Yes, so?
Peas: That's Portuguese cuisine, mate.
Hairy Man: No it's not.
Peas: Oh yes it is.
Hairy Man: No it's not. It's French.

I don't believe it. Third Roommate would've paid good money to have heard that.

I hope you babbled off in French to him about his misguided ideas!!

Man, now you have me craving some Radium time!

Charles, or Sharl, is probably having a grave-induced aneurysm as we speak.

I think you have the makings of a great screenplay there - as long as you include your conversation with SmartieMan as well.

Ha ha Kyk - Ant and I were saying we could write a sitcom on just what goes on in our apartment.

Hmmmm. ;)

hey, nothing to do with anything here but I on the M25 at the weekend (big motorway that circles the outside of London) and somebody had graffitied 'PEAS' in enormous letters on one of the bridges that goes over it! Your notoriety is spreading ;)

The hairy guy sounds like quite a pam-poen!

Ah Z, bless!!
D'you reckon it's some nutcase who loves peas, as in petit-pois, or d'you reckon the Love of My Life actually lives in London and is trying to woo me by grafitting a bridge??
I'd like to think the latter. :)

Yeah, Hairy Guy was quite a looker, Rev. :)

Wiki, the source of all knowledge, says its portuguese. So it must be true

So no other Frenchaguese food like Trinpoendo's or Poengo Steak Rolls all served with a nice caraf of Poengria!

James - hell yeah it's true! I may not know shit, but I know my shit. :)

Rev - I reckon next time you're in The 'Burg, you go ask them. Just tell me when you're going so I can watch and listen when you ask for some 'poengria.' :)

I think so Peas. When's your next trip? :)

Peas on Toast said...

Z - definitely next year. I'll be in London for a short time if all goes to plan - and you'll be one of the first to know. :)

awesome. We shall drink the city dry ;) i need to set up an email address to go with my blog i think. how did you get yours? whenever i try it asks me for my full name, which isn't the name of the game!

Z - you need to get a gmail account, but you need to get 'invited' byate first. So someone you know needs to send you the gmail thing. And in the real place of your name write something else. Yay!
