But Kyk, I don't want ice cream. Unless, of course, you're offering Haagen Dazs?

Clever lady, that Mom Teresa!

Champs - Yeah, she's a real little nutcracker that one.

Here are quotes someone extremely special to me sent when I was having the kakkest of times. They helped me greatly &, for me, are always great to now have at hand:

"Nothing in this world worth having comes easy"

"The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love and something to hope for" (Ed: Now work towards those)

"Everyone chases happiness. But happiness is running after them"

"A day is a step. A year is a tango"

"Little by little one travels far"

"Every second of life is of infinite value"

Champs - "The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love and something to hope for" - I like this!

Anon - since, like, never? I put these quotes down to pretty much determine my state of mind right now. And the current state is not good. Instead of write a long, rambling depressing woe-is-me post.

Everything works out in the end and it's not the end yet.

Peas on Toast said...

OK God....um, ok then when is the end?

I don't mean to rain on this little pity parade, but most people have difficult, miserable lives. That's the harsh truth of life.

Peas on Toast said...

Anon - yip, it is certainly a reality. And many have it way worse than I do. It's the big old "Depression Esq." that is manifestering itself in this pity parade at the moment...sigh.

funny how those who know best never use there names. You want attention...but not that much attention...?

funny how they always seem to be 'greater than thou' without allowing for a rebuttal.

Don't worry peas, everyone has ups and downs.

Sabre- maybe you should learn to spell - it's their not there.

Peas on Toast said...

Sabre - oh yeah, the classic screen-keeps-me-safe tactic. The wonderful world of blogging, I tell ya! :)

Toti - thanks doll. Yeah, and as I was wisely told today, "This too shall pass." It always does, and tomorrow I will probably get out of bed feeling wonderful. It's just the now, when you feel anxious and crap that seems to be an eternity...

Peas on Toast said...

Sabre - this anon is the resident Spellchecker, btw. He/she/it crops up infrequently, and really, what would be do without him/her/it?

To quote Bono in Stuck in a moment: it's just a moment, this time will pass.

"If you watch for a few days, you will see a pattern emerging, a wheel pattern. One day, a fine morning, you are feeling so good and so happy, and another day you are so dull, so dead, you start thinking of committing suicide..and it goes on and on, but you don't see the pattern. Once you see the pattern, you can get out of it."-Osho

Rev, Toti and Jam - thanks guys :)

Rev, you got any lying around mate? DHL delivers in my area :)

Yes, if one thing we can all be thankful for, is that nothing stays the same, ever. And Jam, a very poignant quote, thanks babe. xx

Peas on Toast said...

Sabre - I wouldn't worry babe. I'm used to Anon's through and through :) Comes with the territory. :)

You are certainly a whole lot more tolerant than I am :)

But that's probably just my Kzn upbringing ;)

@Anon:

"I don't mean to rain on this little pity parade, but most people have difficult, miserable lives. That's the harsh truth of life".

But then what? What are you leading to by this? We must all just sit around feeling collectively kak? Stop trying to get ourselves out of the metaphorical "bucket of crabs" & rather be apathetic defeatists? Be like the other crabs pulling the escapist crab back down?

Being the idealist that I sneakily am, I just can't accept that. Accepting that "everybody is miserable" sounds ridiculous, boring, fkcing sad actually.

Nope. I say rage against it in any way, such as speaking up with "I am feeling kak and lost today".

As Mother Teresa said: "The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved"...there are people with all the odds stacked against them, who are happy and content in their lives. And there are those people who have so much going for them outwardly, but inwardly something just is not working... speak up, think about, figure out what's not working inside, fight to fix it, and strive for happiness.

If anyone needs some happy pills it would be the person saying "there is no hope in any of this life - this bottom dark pit is what one must accept".

Peas on Toast said...

Sabre - Nah, I've just got used to it over the years..you know, grown balls of steel :)

Champers - Very, very well said. What people fail to understand is that those who suffer with sadness or "kak" don't want to be there as much as they are. Who wants to feel like that? Nobody! Most people on this Earth, I'd imagine, try and strive for happiness. And thank GOD for that.

To quote Lily Tomlin "Reality is nothing but a collective hunch" so don't take your current reality too much to heart hey girl? Failing which I can highly recommend my little orange pills.

Peas on Toast said...

Rev - ...and that would be....that I have a bag of crisps and dip at home which I plan to stuff into my pie-hole the moment I leave the office right? ;)

Charmskool - Tell me a bit more about those little orange pills! :)

These comments really help though guys, thanks so much.

Wish everyone well, hope that the situation resolves itself in the best way, think happy thoughts instead, and go out and have fun. This often works for me.
