great heavens above

There I was, going about my business yesterday, when I was told - in the middle of a beer and yakkidy yak with two mates - that I WON TWO BLOG AWARDS last night.

Shut up. Are you serious? I had to go and double check this morning first just to make sure, because I really thought my blog wouldn't scratch the surface this year. Wow! WOW, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I won for Best Original Writing (and that kicks so much ass, I want to strip off and run around naked I'm so excited, but it's a bit chilly this morning), and I won Best Post.
You gotta laugh. I won best post about How Not To Buy Condoms. Hilarious, since I'm not actually buying condoms at this very moment am I? Well folks, winning these has made my month. I wasn't lying when I said it would.

Sheesh, I'm honoured. And shit the competition just gets stiffer and stiffer. So if you voted for me, and you like reading this everyday, well I gotta say, I love you right back. Thank you so so so much. And to all the others who won awards, congrats to you guys as well. All deserved - and you can check up on who won what right here.

You know what I'm going to do now? I'm going to celebrate. This means I'm going down to some restaurant today, decked out in my scarf, and am going to order myself a large, packed-with-polyunsaturates meal. I'm going to splurge on a hearty meal just for me. Yay! As promised, my scarf. Isn't it gran-tastic?

You so should have been there.
You coulfd have done the whole acceptance speech thingy...while advertising your scalf business!

Although, Best Original Writing should also make finding work writing a bit easier??

;)

Hha "thanks for the award, ow would any of you okes like to buy a scarf?"
hahahaha

Funny enough Rev, a lot more freelance writing stuff came in for me yesterday, so I'm gonna be rather busy until next week when I do book work again. All this stuff is really giving my confidence a boost it so desperately needs, so I just can't thank anyone enough really. x

If you wear a matching toilet roll holder on your head, you could pretend to be Dr Seuss?

Peas on Toast said...

OK Rev, and you can be the Lorax, that character that makes thneeds. Remember him?

Yay, oh my GOD, I'm going to ravish a giant cheeseburger today and it's gonna be gooood. :)

Umm...Green Eggs & Cheesburgers doesn't quite have the same ring does it??

Although you do make it sound like Ronald MacDonald is going to get lucky today!

Peas on Toast said...

Ronald? Oh no, tried and tested and not a celebration. I think I'm going to do Chuckleberry's today, oh yes.
Yeeeha! :)

i am sitting at my desk with half a dead hedgehog in my mouth, and i can only just bare to look at my screen (dude - neon pink is not a soothing colour on a hangover)...

And imagine my excitement when i see you won some awards - nice one babe!

would it be possible to write a new post every hour? please? - its about the only way i can imagine i'm going to be able to pretend to be busy (otherwise i may just fall asleep on my keyboard)
