Copycat

Nothing gets me more irritated than people WHO CUT AND PASTE someone else's writing and CALL IT THEIR OWN.

ie: MINE.

You copycatting little cunt.

Either REFERENCE it as not your own, or here's an idea: CREATE YOUR OWN FUCKING WRITING.

God I am cross.

Thank you to the person who emailed me to tip me off about this, I really appreciate it.

PS: And to the girl who copies my blog posts - I'm giving you ten minutes to change this.

Oh and - It looks like you've been copying every single one of my posts for quite some time:
A Stream Of Kookiness - Nice blog name, did you steal that from someone too?

Well done.

DON'T. EVER FUCKING MESS WITH ME AND MY ISSUES WITH COPYWRITE.

Yogi Sip said...

hehe! I see she swiftly got rid of her blog.

Peas on Toast said...

Yip :)

It took her about 2 seconds. She can't write her own stuff, but she's talented in the swift department.

polkadotcupcake said...

Thank GOD you found that stupid tart! So glad she took down her blog, plagiarism is NOT a joke!! That's not 'issues', it's against the law, even in blogging!
nice one peas...

Peas on Toast said...

Thanks Sigrid.

I know the Internet is a complete grey area, what with sharing, and pasting and all that - but this chick has basically been living my life as her own.

It begs the question: WHY WOULD SHE WANT TO???

PS: Know any good copywrite lawyers?

po said...

What is the POINT?

Unknown said...

Maybe she's also got a friend called Whale...I hope he is as good looking as me.

Peas on Toast said...

hahahahaha

I love that she's gets herpes too. ;)

Mommy said...

Why? What could she possibly gain?
Must be weird to be a plagiariser...living life vicariously through someone else.
What a moron.

polkadotcupcake said...

I'm still angry about that tart, want to write to news24 and tell em to check their bloggers out! Anyway, I don't know these guys personally, but if you're serious, Bowman and Gilfillan are good copyright/intellectual property lawyers. http://www.bowman.co.za/Index.asp
If she's been making money from her blog, using your content, I'd say it legally belongs to you. And damages for the f**king cheek!! HAH!! I hope she DOES get herpes, all over her face!

Peazel, you been suffereing from multiple personality disorder??

Why've you been copying this poor girls posts???....if it's actually a girl??

Peas on Toast said...

hahahaha

I just didn't have my own life, see ;)

I'm Creative Commonsing her ass. She's history.

Peas on Toast said...

Jam - I agree, and WHY?
I have a nice life, but really, she could've taken someone else's.

Thinking of inviting her to my book event and handing her a free t-shirt ;)

Sigrid - thank you SO much! I am going to contact them and ask what we can do about copyright on blogs.
And equally ensure she never does this to anyone again.

Revolving Credit said...

I think you struck too fast here.
You could have had some fun with it.

She would repeats exactly what you said.....you were the ventriloquist and she was the dummy...kinda like Achmed the Dead Terrorist. You could post the arbist shit and she would repeat it as her own...the possibilities.

Oh well..

PS. Tell me, as a ventriloquist, do you like having your arm stuck up someone else ass??

polkadotcupcake said...

Revolving Credit: Peas already DOES post the arbist shit (you cannot make this stuff up!) but that's why its unique!

Peas: Strike fast, that like plagiarising wench needs to be taken down several pegs, if not the entire f**king ladder! GET HER! Oh, and please post about what happens, I shall follow this closely... Can you tell? I have an almost obsessive hate for plagiarists!

Pebbles said...

Aaaw, I'm kinda bummed that she took her blog down. I was looking forward to burning her :-( Nobody messes with our Peas!

Peas on Toast said...

Rev - ahahahahahahaha!

After an executed cigarette I'm starting to think 'shit, what is she's seriously depressed/mentally unstable/etc etc' and maybe I reacted too harshly?

But then I think: no bugger her. My arbitrary shit is MY arbitrary shit!

Sigrid - hahaha, so true - I'm arb and it's MY ARB :)
Thanks for your support in this matter, seriously, I am the same with copywriting ethics - it's just NOT cool. I'll let you know if she ever gets back to me. ;)

Monki - I believe her profile is still up. But perhaps not for too long.
I can be a real bitch when you fuck with me, I'm the first to admit.

Twinkletits & PussyFoot said...

GOD that would piss me off SO MUCHLY!!! I love how you could just rant on the blog about it and know the bitch would read it within two days!! Mwahahahaah!! Slut hobag.

Love the blog - don't join a bat-club. That's just daft, plus, you'll develop an unappetising interest in guano.

Peas on Toast said...

Hi there PussyFooty - LOVE the name :)

I'm going through all the cached pages now and am ASTOUNDED - she's been copying the entirety of my blog for like, years.

Crazy!

Pebbles said...

The worst is that she gathered "fans" and ranking based on your posts! Makes the rest of us 24 bloggers look bad.

Peas on Toast said...

Monki - oh my word, seriously?

Am I allowed to steal HER fans do you think? ;)

Pebbles said...

I could do a post "advertising" you ;-) I don't have a large following though.

Revolving Credit said...

I wonder if she plagiarised your book as well??

Look out for a Swahili version of a book about a koek from Pretoria.

puffin said...

Everybody wants to be like Peas! In one way, it's a huge compliment to you coz she wishes she was like u & living your life... and a kick-ass one you have Peas! And on the other end, she made a complete fool of herself & her "fans" coz there is only one Peas baby, and it's YOU!!!

Peas on Toast said...

Monki - hilarious - and bless your heart! I saw on her profile she has 54 fans. Nice! :) I say steal them for yourself :)

Rev - ahahahahahahahaha :)
She could write my sequel if she wants ;)

puffin - there's no doubt, it's quite surreal really - and yes in some twisted way it's seriously flattering. I feel a bit sorry for her though. Especially is she bought a piano by mistake ;)

Unknown said...

how low can a person go? I'm flabbergasted. It must be some kid looking for attention( I hope at least)

Peas on Toast said...

arnaut - nuts eh? I just don't get how she justifies this in her head?

Or how she didn't think EVENTUALLY she'd be found out?

Unknown said...

For sure. I've realised that this world is made up of the most weird and interesting/crazy people.

btw, in your defense, only you could ever buy a piano by mistake :)

In a way she just retweeted your blog posts...well kinda..in an almost but not quiet kinda way.

OMG I would be the maddest person ever, you haveeee to find out who it is! I would wanna beat them up man, sometimes violence is the answer, in this case for sure!

Maybe you can find out from that web-site, I just hope they don't start a new copycat blog under another name, the fucker, it makes me soooooo mad and it didnt even happen to me, I hope something crap happens to this person. another reason to hate people in general...

*hugs* for you LC!

Peas on Toast said...

Rev - true. So my bullshit arb stuff TWICE - shame, you poor readers! :)

Chantal - loving your hugs babe, thank you :)

Yip I just punched a beanbag. It's all so surreal!

Nicole B said...

Ah! Man, she stole my idea.
Oh well, while we're on the topic, I may well ask if I can plagiarize your blog? I mean, its only because I dont have a stich of my own talent and because I really am THAT pathetic.

Oh, Ill be taking all your readers as well, including myself - if thats fine by you!?

What an effing idiot that girl is.

Peas on Toast said...

Secret - you can steal whatever you like here. Seriously. As long as you REFERENCE it/attribute to me, then by all means, steal away! ;)

Revolving Credit said...

Ja, I'd plagiarise your blog but people may start to wonder when I start talking about spoilling my noombies with bra from Woolies.

Nicole B said...

Revolving Credit...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *choke*

Simon said...

Fuck me, I have been reading her blog for so long on 24.com and loving it. So this morning's revalations were a bit of a "fuck me" moment. I went and dug through your posts and saw the correlation. Remember the letter to your kids? "Hello my darlings

This is your mother. She's just come back from a bernder [sic] at Green Man, so pardon mummy for being a bit tanked. "

She got all of is 24.com bloggers doing it!

Yussus man, I can see why you are furious.

Peas on Toast said...

Hey Simon!
I'd like to introduce myself: My names is Peas...and yes that is the letter I wrote to my kids....as archived on the side bar.

So yeah...hi! Do pop in again if you want some original content:)
I'm sure if was a 'fuck me' moment. Trust me, it was a 'fuck me' moment for me too.

I can't believe it.

Revolving Credit said...

Did she repost the 'Give Peas a Chance' post last week?

ie. 'Give Kook a Chance'

Would have made her sounds like a lesbian advocacy group????

Unknown said...

Hi, Ntk of Blogs24 here. I was made aware of your blog post. I've checked out the blog 'A Stream of Kookiness', and I'm happy to say she's deleted her posts... (Or should I say your posts?) Sorry for all the trouble. Cheers!

Mickey G said...

Hey Peas

Firstly, agree with you completely on the 'copywriting little cunt' bit, somehow those three words just work so well together.

Secondly I really hope you find out who this person is. If you do let me know, I'm an attorney and I will send her a letter that even you will struggle to conceptualise, and I've read the things you can conceptualise.

I offer my services merely because reading your antics is one of those little highlights in the morning that I look forward to and this needs to be protected against 'copywriting little cunts'.

(p.s. I credit the term 'copywriting little cunts' to Peas, published in her blog dated 17 July 2009)

Nicole B said...

Mickey G - does this means I have to pay peas whenever I use the term "Copyrighting little cunts"?

Mickey G said...

Secret - Yes. And there's an extra 20% surcharge if you start copywriting with a capital C.

Peas - No need to thank me, a commission payment will be fine. My bank account details and payment structure will follow shortly.

Margot said...

Sorry, Ntk of blogs24 or whatever - that pat respons-ette is just not good enough, in my humble.

The Chantal said...

yeah I agree with Margot, it's not enough, Ntokozo should reveal their e-mail addy and their IP address. a "Sorry for all the trouble" is not enough, and blogs24 should let all their readers know about it.

Peas on Toast said...

Hey chaps :)

I have heard from the blogger in question, and will update you as soon as possible. I still have NO answers or no leads as to the psychology behind this.

And you can use copywriting little cunts - you have my permission! (Thanks for asking!!) hahahah

Rev - I'll bet that's EXACTLY the title she used!

Ntokozo - here's the thing. Thanks for deleting them all, but I have them cached. They can't just disappear, it's the Internet.
If you could please email me as I requested from Blogs24 this morning from my email, that would be appreciated. Apparently there are some 'abused login' speculations here. Either way, I want to get to the bottom of this.

Revolving Credit said...

I know that identity theft has been quiet rife in this country but this is a bit much..like no one would notice.

Would have been quiet funny if the blog got nominated for a blog award!!

Hahahaha

Just a girl said...

Just saw this on 24com - disgusting!

word said...

she is going to steal a blog - one by a publisher author probably wasn't the most sensible idea

Simon said...

I think that 24.com can't really be responsible for all the blogs on it compared to all the other blogs in the world. I dunno what the legalities are though.

The news has got around 24.com like lightning and Quirkyx has been lampooned.

I didn't compliment you the first time round Peas. I adore your stuff and I will come and read keenly now :) I am so glad this was sorted out. Your blog rocks man.

Unknown said...

Hey Peas,

I am a bud of Simon and was also shocked to find that you were the original writer of all these blog posts. I must compliment you on your brilliant writing!

This is really unfortunate but have to agree with Simon that it cannot be blamed on 24.com blogs. I think it would be impossible to check up on each and every blog to authenticate the author and content as original. That's like trying to find the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Regardless, I would like to hear what Quirky has to say in defence of what she has done.

And have bookmarked your blog so I can catch up on your crazy antics and experiences. From one blogger to another, I think you are doing a brilliant job and keep on at it :)

Martha said...

I had someone on 24.com copy my racier posts too, around December last year(I blog on 24 myself). Another blogger though I'd gone "undercover" by creating a blog exclusively for my x-rated writing. I asked what he was on about and that's how we figured it out.

Her excuse? She just wanted a couple of good posts to get her started. Flattery my ass. She didn't even change anything. She copied the post as is, with the pics I had on my blog.

I totally get how you're feeling. I'm not even a famous published blogger. Retard. Hope she gets hookworm or something.

Snowgoose said...

Wow, you've got to be seriously twisted to do something like this - I'd be livid.

If you need to chat to someone at 24.com blogs, speak to Alistair Fairweather - he'll help you get to the bottom of it. (@afairweather on twitter)

And the best New Media copyright lawyer in SA? Paul Jacobson (@pauljacobson on twitter)

Peas on Toast said...

Hey guys :)
Thanks so much for your comments and stuff (Tertia - I checked out your post on the plagiarism - MALAYSIA china, can't believe it)

Either way, I think my point here is this: it's just not cricket. It's just not on. Hence the follow up post today.
