peas on radio

I’m shitting myself. For the second time in three days.

Tomorrow I am being interviewed by SAfm (104-107fm) about my blog and blogging in general.

I’m not going to fanny around: I'm nervous. Talking on national radio really freaks me out – I shall imbibe a lot of Rescue Remedy before said interview. However, it is rather exciting isn’t it? My little blog is being aired on radio!

I’ll let you all know exactly when it airs – if you tune in, please remember I’m going to be nervous, so in advance: if I sound like a poen, please forgive me.

And I will no doubt sound like Captain Poen.
I’ll update when I know exactly which time slot it is, that is to be thrust across the country via high frequency waves…I hate my recorded voice. Exciting, n'est ce pas?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! ok, Im not helping, but that's really wonderful Peas. I wonder if I'll be able to recognise you from UCT days over the radio. Probably not. A friend and fellow follower of Peas's blog and I decided the other day that if we were to ever actually find out who you were, it would spoil it for us. We like the anonymity aspect of it all. I wonder what they're going to ask you. Maybe someone else is embarking on some blog research like I did. I can't wait to hear it. best of luck to you, and thanks again for the entertaining read.Florence

Ah thanks Florence!

I like remaining anonymous too, - ok less the fact that most of mates read this, my ex-boyfriends mates read this and so forth - generally, I like just Peas. So I won't be revealing my identity on radio. :)

I hope I manage to sound sort of professional... ;)

Hmmmmm...profesional...do you really want to sound professional ??? just talk how you normally talk and you'll be fine im sure...

Congrats!! And definitely let us know the time, even if you have to sms to some people 5 minutes before you go live & we'll blog it around...

Rescue Remedy is packed with neat alcohol. You may as well have a tequila! That'll have you jabbering away and us laughing away!

Champers and Fly - a tot may be in order!

I can envisage a lot of ums and ahs and 'you knows'. Hopefully no accidental swearing. ;)

I'm shitting myself! I hope I don't come across as a complete bafoon, and i hope I can mind my P's and Q's cause you never know what could slip out. Here's holding thumbs for ya mate!

YEAH to both of you!!!! This is brilliant! I'm so happy you're going to be nationally recognised (or are already - that's why they want you!)

And I get to say I know you. Ooo Ooo Oooooo! I'll have to go & sit in my car in the office basement to listen to you guys.

Quite amusing that there's a good chance the SAfm guys are probably reading your nervous comments now!

You'll probably need a nicotine patch to go with you poen patch.

Why not blog while you're on air.
Let's see if they dare broadcast some of the commentary that goes down here.....hahaha

Here's the screaming audio link

I dare you to say POEN on air, I double dare you..

Brilliant, good luck, be sure to let us know when, i plan on phoning in to ask some socio-political questions, or just to get the chance to say "bone" live on air.

Me too Suavie - holding thumbs for you big guy. ;)

Champers - ha ha ha! I can see you sitting in your car havign a good laugh! ;)

Matt - thanks china ;)

Rev - I'd LOVE To say poen on air. You reckon they'd dub it out?

Billy - ha ha ha, throw me a frigging bone. Surely that's not offensive?? ;)

What if Sauvy calls you 'Poen' on air, does it count?

Suavé said...

HAHAHA Rev! Who me? I would never do such a thing *evil laugh*

Woohoo!! I'm gonna call into the show and ask some rediculously tough questions :)

The SAfm studio is chilled, and the DJ's are really good at easing the situation. Just either talk to the DJ or to the caller - forget about the rest.

Don't chew gum, go for a pee before the show, and whatever you do don't say fuck! :)

The thing to do is ignore the microphone & just talk to the person interviewing you. Then it's a piece of old takkie.

Good luck peas. You ahve some competition though. the boys from Chumpstyle were on Fresh's (5fm)show a few months ago

shit-damn, go peas & sauve...caught a glimpse that you're going to have another to hold your hand! How kiff city is that though?

Sure you'll be fine man. It's different on air cos they don't see you using all your body language or looking like a bit of a nervous wreck! Well, the dj & co do but who the hell cares!

What does poen mean? Am I dof?

Good luck!

Peas on Toast said...

Anon from Austria - thanks! I'm going to write out a script today!

Crusoe - sound advice big guy, thanks! I need some Calmettes...

Thanks Kyk - I'm going to try and focus on the questions at hand - and try to answer them without sounding really thick. Hope it works!

Mike - that is HILARIOUS. :) THat'll be in the back of ym head mate when I'm on air!

Verge - yip I remember that. Dari phoned into the Fresh Drive show. Lucky bugger isn't scared, I am.

Kab - you're not dof babe. It's mine and my mate C's name for a punani. ;)
Yip and at least Suave will be around the radiowaves the same time as I am I presume, which is great.
