woke up at 4:00am

..in my own bedroom, and thought: I will be in an office today? But yesterday I was tumbling around the beach getting my tits burnt and then after an epic plane journey, reunioning with Mr 747!
What. Pants.

Coming back to Disaster Management, hundreds of emails, and urban traffic congestion....it's like being booted from heaven and shoved right back into hell.

Grumble, grumble.

Miss M - thanks my dear! A slow Monday it is...yowza. Getting back into the rat race is taking mere hours, but wounding down for my holiday took a full week. :(

Still waiting for topless blingkini and tan-line pics to be posted.

Let me guess, you woke up at 4 beacuse you're still in a different timezone?

Rev - 1 x gold blinkini and tan line proof coming up!

Seychelles is only two hours ahead, but I've been getting up at around 7:00am every morning (god knows why), so yip, waking up at sparrow's back in Joburg!

Peas, when last you speak to Ant??
Does they got Internets in the Poenda??

Cause she hasn't posted in ages.
Ask her to handwrite a post, snail mail it to you and you can post it on her blog for her!
Comments may take awhile though.

So what time did you get in last night?? Did you and SmileHigh have a chance to get your groove on or were you too rum-drunk(hungover) and semi jetlagged to perform?

Have you picked up any bad habits while there?? Did you fart on the plane?...LOL

Peas on Toast said...

Oh Revvie. You do make me chuckle.
No, I don't fart. I just talk. :)

And I wasn't pissed on returning - I got back late afternoon yesterday. ;)

As for Ant, I know! One wonders whether they is getting komputahs that end. I've reminded her that her blog is tired and that perhaps she should mention that she and Gilb have bought a house together, moved in and are even gardening.
As for her company of employ - they have certain access on Internet. She can only send out 30 emails a day, and I think blogs are banned too.
Still. Excuses, excuses. I'm hoping she'll come to Joburg this weekend.

So you got some hey..nudge, nudge.. wink, wink... know what I mean..nod's as good as a wink to a blindbat, hey.

Only 30 mails a day?? Does they have someone counting??

They've probably got a censor who used to work for the staatsdiens, who proof reads all the email and draws a line wiff a permanent marker through the text on his screen!!

Peas on Toast said...

Rev - Don't joke, if she sends out one email to 20 people, it counts as 20 emails. If she outdoes her quota she has to ask the administrator to allow her to send more emails. She has to also explain why she outdid the quota and why she needs more mail time.

To begin with - how is THIS - she had to write a motivation as to why she NEEDS TO USE THE INTERNET. She was like, "I need to check the markets the whole time." And then they let her. Crazy bureaucracy that place!

They probably reckon that 30 or more emails per day is more that the email postman can deliver??

Quite simply, if you have internet access, use gmail, yahoo mail, hotmail, webmail or one of a thousand free web-based email accounts.

Surely they can't block them all.

Although, it sounds like probably have in-house internet police.
"You are charged wiff loitering on the interweb...come wiff us"

Then again, it is the Poenda where they probably think that:
- Wifi is a Hifi wiff wide
speakers
- Broadband is extra wide tyres for your 4x4
- Laptop is that friendly bokkie at the bar all the okes like buying drinks for

and the internet is a communist conspiracy!!

Die Web Gevaar!!!!

Peas on Toast said...

Yip, probably! She can't wear open-toed shoes to work either. Site regulations or what not.

And if they drive over 30 kms/h on the site into the office, they get a warning. After two warnings, people have to drop them at work, they are forbidden to drive.

She sounds like she's working at a gulag or a concentration camp.

When is she eligable for parole??

If you go visit her, do they body search you??

We've heard all the complaints about crime and crowded prisons and early prisoner releasing.

So as opposed to sending people to jail, just send then to the Poenda.

Peas on Toast said...

They get parole on Friday afternoons after five, when the steal slammers are released, but then they not allowed to drive inter-state.

The Internet is a privilege for good behaviour, which our Ant has clearly not earned as yet :)

You said that they've bought a house there and spend time gardening!

Have you ever watched the movie 'The Great Escape'

They're not gardening, they're digging an eascape tunnel!

Peas on Toast said...

Hahahahaha, I'll relay the message through the prison warden. :)

Has she learnt to drink brandy and coke yet??

The one bonus with a place like the Poenda is that if we win the rugby next weekend, they would have to declare Monday a public holiday there because most of the town would still be drunk and/or severely hungover...you know..not able to operate heavy equipment and shit like that.
